Charm Bracelet Making With Kids
March 16, 2015 by admin.

Jewelry making can be fun, and it can also help to improve children's fine motor skills. Why not sit down for a rainy (or snowy) afternoon and make charm bracelets that your children will not only enjoy making, but will also love to wear and show off?

Before you start, you have to do some shopping. You will need something for the bracelet part and then you will need the charms. Obviously, the materials you choose are going to depend on the age of the child. For example, you can purchase sterling silver bracelets to add charms to, but does a 4 year old need a sterling silver charm bracelet?

For the bracelet, you can easily use black polyester macrame cord and a box of assorted charms. In order to keep the charms from bunching up together, you may want to purchase some beads to place in between each one. And your end result could come out like this:

When you shop for the charms, think about the age group that you are shopping for. You may want to buy different sets of charms for you and your children so that you can both have age appropriate jewelry. Most of all, though, have fun with it!
